Brent Zachary Allain

March 25, 1977 ~ September 28, 2017

Brent Zachary Allain was greeted as he walked through Heaven’s Gates by his beloved grandmother, Clara Zachary, on September 28, 2017.   Surrounded by loved ones, Mr. Allain, 40, passed away at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital following his struggle with a debilitating illness.

He was a 1995 graduate of Sulphur High School.  He served with the Louisiana National Guard.  In his early twenties, Brent was employed as a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and later as a law enforcement officer with the Sulphur Police Department.

He earned an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston.  He worked for a few years at Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur.  Brent was a Jack-of-all trades, but most recently he was employed as a commercial electrician with Saia and Doyle Electric in Baton Rouge.

With his charming personality, quick wit, and joking nature, Brent made friends wherever he went.  He had many interests such as music and woodworking, but his greatest joy was being a father to his two sons, Reed and Matthew.

Mr. Allain is survived by his two sons, Zachary Reed and Matthew Paul Allain; his parents, John Jeffrey and Darlyne Zachary Allain; his sisters, Julie Warwick (Chris) and Lisa Banta (Tony); his brother, Jeffrey Paul Allain (Kelly), and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rodney and Clara Zachary and his paternal grandparents, Eldon and Marie Allain.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the following doctors for their outstanding and compassionate care during his illness and treatment:  Dr. Erich Wolf, Dr. Khaled Nour, Dr. Michael Broussard, Dr. Carlos Choucino, Dr. Tony Leung, and especially, Dr. Peter Karam, Dr. Gregory Lugo, and Dr. Craig Broussard.  Also their gratitude is extended to Kasie Nix NP, Kari Savoy NP, Deanna Burger, NP, the LCMH Heart Team, ICU Staff, and the staff of the 7th and 8th Towers.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Henry, Jeffrey Allain, Reed Allain, Drew Allain, Chris Warwick, and Tony Banta.  Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Allain; Ben Warwick; Braiden, Dylan, and Ethan Banta.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur.  Services will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss.

In Brent’s memory, the family asks that you share a joke and a laugh with your family and friends.

Memories Timeline

  1. So very sorry to hear of his untimely illness and death. We had several lovely talks when I was at Moss. Your family has always been there for us during any crisis in our life. We love you tremendously and stand ready to help you in any way possible. All our love. Marsha, Monte and Derek Hart

  2. Jeff and Darlene, I am so sorry for the loss of your precious son. Life truly isn't fair but nothing hurts worse than the loss of a child. That turns the normal sequence of life on its end and seems to negate all we have worked for all our lives. Faith is what anchors the soul in times like these–faith that God is good, loving, and forgiving, and faith that the end of our earthly life is not the end of our being. I am convinced that Brent is safe in the loving arms of his Creator and that he will continue to love all of you, awaiting your joyful reunion when you have finished what God intends you to do on this side of the veil. Comfort those grandchildren and do what you can to help them remember their dad. I will pray for you all. Please call me if you need to talk to someone who truly understands what you are going through: 409-201-5016.

  3. Darlene and Jeff: Our thoughts and prayers are with you both in the loss of your precious Brent. God Bless and Keep You and Yours.

  4. I worked with Brent at Robinson's FH, he was the sweetest friend. He absolutely loved his boys. My heart hurts for all of his family. I pray for peace, love and understanding through this dark valley. May the Angels welcome you home Brent….look for me for one day I'll be there too!

  5. Jeff and Darlene, I can not even begin to imagine the pain you are going through right now! I do know with Gods help and the many prayers you have going for you, you will make it through! I am Very Very sorry to hear about your precious son! know that you are all in my thoughts and continued prayers! Love to all, Renee

  6. Dear Jeff & Darlyne, My heart is breaking for you both. Brent must have been a wonderful young man! I don't pretend to know why these things happen, but I have faith that one day we will all understand. I'm asking God to hold you & your beautiful family close & to comfort you as only He can. You will see your precious son again one day! Love, Myra

  8. I met Brent 19 years ago on Big Lake Hwy when he was a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputy. We have remained friends all of these years. He was a wonderful man who loved his sons fiercely. He checked in with me every few weeks and would send me the most wonderful messages. I will miss hearing from him. He was happy, almost always positive and would help anyone in need. We have lost a good one.

  9. To the Allain family please accept my condolences on behalf of your loved one Brent. I am sorry for your loss. May the God of all tender comfort and mercies grant you peace during this difficult time. May you find comfort in a wonderful promise that our Heavenly Father has for our dear loved ones at Revelation 21:4.

  10. It was great to see the entire Allain family at the wake. I loved Brent like he was my actual brother. He will truly be missed forever. God bless the Allain family and please Lord, help guide those two sweet boys in life to success. Brent will be flying high in heaven to help guide them as well.

  11. I know that I should have been there today but I couldn't say goodbye to you knowing I would never see you smile at me this side of heaven again. You and I really had the very worst timing…we were what could have been but never would be. How blessed we were not to become bitter by these near misses but to just be thankful for the friendship we had. I am truly devastated to know I will never hear your voice again. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

  12. Gone too soon my friend. You always made me smile. We traded song lyrics, stories and made fun of all the hard stuff. So kind and gentle. I will miss you dearly. To Brent's family, sending you comforting love your way.

  13. Darlyne & Jeff my heart breaks for your loss. Kelli & Brent began Mothers Day out all those years ago. I can not imagine the pain you are feeling. Please know you and your family are in our thoughts & prayers.

  14. I am so sorry to hear of Brent's passing. I worked with him for a couple of years at SPD. He was a great person. RIP
