Carrie Hewitt

July 29, 1950 ~ May 2, 2020

Carrie Hewitt, 69, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in a local hospital.  Carrie loved to play bingo and dance.  She enjoyed cooking, canning and making jelly.  Carrie also enjoyed feeding the ducks.  Carrie was a very social and giving person.  She gave her sister a life-giving gift of a kidney years ago.  Carrie loved her grandbabies. 

Carrie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bobby Hewitt of Carlyss; her three children, Clint Hewitt and wife Beth of Markham, TX, Ashley Hewitt of Benton, AR and Farrah Harrington and husband Darrell of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Carson Hewitt, Caroline Hewitt, Tori West, Griffin West and Riley Harrington; her sister, Catherine Simon; and her brother, D.J. East.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorcerle and Cecile East; two sisters, Helen Theriot and Dolores Duhon; and one brother, Gary East. 

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 4, 2020 from 11-3 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Please note that the gathering capacity will be limited to 10 people, as per state compliance. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Society.

  3. Praying for y'all! I've known Mrs. Carrie for over 35 years. She and I both worked for Cameron Sheriff's Office. I always thought she had the best sense of humor, a little dry sometimes, but funny none the less. We stayed friends and she's another friend that used to check up on me when I went to Alaska. Mrs. Carrie you will be missed!😪

  4. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Carrie. She was a caring and giving person and was always so friendly and sweet to me. I learned many recipes from her while working in the Hackberry Waterworks office after hurricane Ike. She will be missed tremendously. My prayers for Mr. Bobby and the family. Rest In Peace Mrs. Carrie.

Ashley, Clint & Bobby — My daughter Chelley Contacted me and asked me if I knew about Carrie’s passing.  I did not.  In all her years married to Bobby, and my living in Denver,  I only met her and spoke to her three times briefly.  This virus has kept everyone so isolated, it’s hard to believe that a family has to suffer the loss of a loved one.  My deepest sorrow for your loss.  My prayers are with you all.

  10. Austin and I are so sorry to hear of Carrie’s passing. I so enjoyed having her as my paraprofessional in our preschool class. She was lots of fun. If Drew and Kaitlyn were not already having a disagreement about something, Carrie made sure she said something to start one. We laughed a lot together at those little ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
