Dale Reed McElveen

January 29, 1954 ~ July 18, 2011

Dale Reed McElveen, 57, of Sulphur, passed away July 18, 2011 in his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Tibbitts officiating. Burial will be in Farquar Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 4-9p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Friday at 8a.m. until time of service .Dale was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur, LA. He graduated from Sulphur High School and continued his education receiving degrees from three colleges. Dale later served his country in the Military. After retiring from Citgo, he traveled the world working in Safety and Security. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles where he played the drums in the Church Band. Dale loved music and was a lifelong musician. Dale is survived by his three sons, John Cullen McElveen of Lindale, TX., Luke McElveen and his wife, Christinna of Sulphur, and Timothy McElveen and his wife, Jennifer of DeRidder, father, Eulice Benoit, Jr. of Vinton, Alastair White of Sulphur and four grandchildren.

  3. My condolences goes out to Dale's Family. Dale was a great guy in school. I also worked with him at Citgo in 1993. May peace with be with all of you in this time of sorrow.

  4. Dale was a friend from high school. He was very talented, thoughtful and centered. He loved his family and was liked and respected by everyone who knew him. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing, but know that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

  5. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of a dear friend of mine. My first aquaintance with Dale was July 2009 and I was honored to be able to meet his family and friends. I will miss him greatly. I shared some of the most memorable and heart to heart times with him. Rest in peace Dale, love you.

  6. To Dale's Family: Dale has been in and out of our lives for a couple of years now. From a nice evening motorcycle ride to Dairy Queen, to diving in extremely cold water with us,and sharing a love for music and religion. Dale was a great friend and we will greatly miss him. We will continue to pray your family.

  7. Many memories of Dale during younger years. He had a genuine love for music and was a wonderful friend to so many… May God ease your pain as you deal with your loss.

  8. Thoughts and prayers go out to those that loved Dale and those that Dale loved! He was an awesome person, with so much life. He and my mother and uncle, all left this summer, all at age 57. I hope they all meet in Heaven. Dale, you will be missed. Thank you for all that you have done for me. Never forgotten!
