Darrell Schexnider, Sr.

February 15, 1953 ~ November 13, 2021

Darrell James Schexnider Sr., 68, of Sulphur, passed from this life Saturday, November 13,2021.

Darrell was a Louisiana high school football referee for 25 years and a high school basketball referee for 15 years. He refereed twice in the state finals at the Superdome. He coached youth baseball and enjoyed all youth sports, especially when his children and grandchildren were playing. Darrell enjoyed spending time at Toledo Bend Lake fishing or just sitting on the porch enjoying the lake. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Patricia Schexnider; daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Boudreaux (Todd); son, Darrell “DJ” Schexnider Jr. (Karissa); grandchildren, Gavin Boudreaux, Dillon Boudreaux, Ian Malone, Mason Malone, Khora Schexnider; mother, Joyce Schexnider; brother Ronald Schexnider (Jeanne); sisters, Glenda Abshire, Cheryl Sanders (Jefferey), Tina Dickerson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Darrell is preceded in death by his father, Alton Schexnider; granddaughter, Catherine Boudreaux, and brother-in-law, Richard Abshire.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Father Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Burial to follow at New Hackberry Community Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4- 8 P.M. with a recitation of the Rosary by the men’s A.C.T.S.
