Gregory Arthur Gillard

November 21, 1958 ~ May 16, 2012

Gregory Arthur Gillard, 53 of Sulphur passed away on May 16, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur, LA with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Friday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Gregory was a native of Lake Charles and a long-time resident of Sulphur. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and later worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for many years before retiring. Gregory is survived by his son, Wade Gillard of Sulphur; two brothers, Johnny Gillard of Toledo Bend, LA and Glenn Gillard of Pineville, LA; and sister, Gayle Wood of Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans and Mary Gillard and a sister, Marie Wood.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. Greg was one of the good guys. He will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing him. I knew him from our high school days and had an opportunity to visit with him again about 6 months ago. It is a conversation I will treasure. Prayers for all left to cherish his memory. His suffering has ended, and with God's grace may those that remain here find peace in that.

I will miss the two weeks of us being the same age too… that was always fun to pick about. 🙂 Wade, Aunt Gayle is always right here for you. I'm a phone call away, just like always.   5. I knew Greg when we were 9-12 years old. We dug a lot of holes, went fishing nearly every weekend and loved our bicycles. I have many fond memories that I will have for as long as I will be able to remember! I wish I could have seen him later in life.
