Lonnie Cain Sr.

February 10, 1957 ~ February 5, 2024

Lonnie Cain, Sr. passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, in the comfort of his home at the age of 66.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tom Cain and his brother, Danny Cain.

Lonnie is survived by his mother, Sadie Cain; two children. Shay and Lonnie Cain Jr.; one grandson, Kobe; two siblings including Tommie Sumpter and Kim Cain and wife Monica; the mother of his children, Tammy Cain; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lonnie was born and raised in Westlake and graduated from Westlake Highschool in 1975. In his younger years he was a swell mechanic and could fix anything. He was introverted but always willing to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Some may say Lonnie marched to the beat of his own drum but he loved his children deeply and his grandson was the sun that made his world go round.

Lonnie’s life has taught us life here on Earth is but one brief moment in time. While our family mourns this great loss, we find peace in knowing Lonnie left a mark on those he loved.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 12:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Deacon Reed officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 11 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. with a rosary at 11:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur following the service under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.

  7. Candle 1I’m so sorry for the family’s loss of Lonnie. He was my neighbor for a number of years.
He mostly kept to hisself. He always smiled and waved. Seemed like a nice, quiet guy. I went to school and graduated with his brother Kim.
I also knew his children’s mother, Tammy.
I was sad to hear this news.
The family are in my thoughts and prayers.
