Nellie "Sue" Smith

February 16, 1935 ~ August 2, 2017

Nellie “Sue” Grace Smith, 82, of Sulphur passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 surrounded by her family in a local hospital. Mrs. Smith was born on February 16, 1935 and was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. She attended Trinity Baptist Church, enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, playing bingo, pokeno, and spending time with her family.

Nellie is survived by her 2 sons, James LaBove and wife Ranelle and Dwain Smith and wife Pam; her daughter, Tammy Cormier; and daughter-in-law, Denise Smith; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Smith; son, Chuck “Buggs” Smith; parents, Lastie and Margaret O’Quain; 5 brothers, Anderson O’Quain, Nathaniel O’Quain, Daniel O’Quain, Valentine O’Quain, and James Carl O’Quain; 3 sisters, Mary Nellie Haven, Annie Mae Morgan, and Della Mae O’Quain.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 3:30 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. with visitation continuing on Saturday, August 5 at 8 A.M. until time of the service.
