Patricia Franks

February 16, 1953 ~ January 30, 2018

Patricia Ann Slaydon Franks, Of Sulphur, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 01-30-18, at the age of 64.

Pat was born to parents, Billy and Betty Slaydon on February 16, 1953 in DeRidder, Louisiana. She grew up as the eldest of three girls and attended Singer High School where she graduated in 1971 as Valedictorian. Upon High School graduation she attended Northwestern University on a basketball scholarship.

Pat is survived by her sons, Myron Carson Franks and Duston Ron Franks; her daughter, Lynn Ann Franks Adams; the father of her children, Rondal Van Franks; her sisters, Jeanie Slaydon Partin and Rita Lee Slaydon; six wonderful grandchildren who kept young forever, Hannah, Christy, Bill, Ally, Kaylin and Autumn. Pat is also survived by her very best friends, Charlotte White and Larry Paul Vincent. She is preceded in death by her father, Billy Sunday Slaydon and her mother, Betty Jean Slaydon.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life is to be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1700 Maplewood Drive, Sulphur, LA at 11:00, Saturday, February 3, 2018, with a reception to follow. Reverend Ally Perry will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat’s life. Pat has requested No Flowers and instead would ask that contributions and condolences be made or sent to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
