Richard Guillory

September 3, 1941 ~ July 22, 2016

Richard Guillory, 74, went home to the Lord on Friday, July 22, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his family.  Richard owned and operated Sulphur Pawn Shop until his retirement.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Richard was a devoted member of Our Lady of LaSalette Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus council 8978.  Richard was born and raised in Fenton, LA, where he excelled in basketball and track, even breaking state track records in the 1950’s. 

Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Courville Guillory; one daughter, Beth Guillory Moss and husband Craig; four grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Elizabeth and Ethan; two siblings, Melvyn Guillory and Willie Mae McMullen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans and Mary Guillory and two brothers, Evans Guillory, Jr and Donald Guillory.

Services for Richard will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10 AM at Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Sulphur with the Reverend Andrews Kollannoor, M.S. officiating.  Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3-8 PM at the funeral home with a cursillo rosary at 5 PM.  Visitation will resume on Monday from 8 am until it is time to leave for the church at 9:30 am.
