Ronald Guy Mercer

Born in: Middlebourne, West Virginia

Ronald Guy Mercer, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in his Many, LA home.

Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 – 1964.  He was an operator for Firestone, retiring after 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching, RC airplanes, powered parachuting, racing, and restoring vehicles.  Family was most important to Ronald, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Cynthia Dean Mercer; three sons, Mike Mercer (Rosalind), Todd Mercer, and Pete Pelafigue (Annie); grandchildren, Laura Whitman (Casey), Amanda Mercer (Dalton), Seth Pelafigue, and Ethan Pelafigue; and great grandchildren, Ayden, Waylon, Kole, and Kendall.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Guidry Mercer; brother, Larry Mercer; and parents, William Guy and Kathryn Mercer.

Funeral Services for Ronald will be at 1pm, Monday, January 22, 2024, at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. The visitation will be Monday, 9:30AM – 1PM. A burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate.
