Roy Anthony Goodfriend

September 12, 1954 ~ October 31, 2017

Roy Anthony Goodfriend, 63, of Sulphur passed away on November 1, 2017 in his residence. He was a member of the Local 112 Insulators and Asbestos Union, and worked as an oiler on Harrah’s Casino Boat. Roy enjoyed bull riding, rodeos, fishing, watching the discovery channel and spending time with his grandbabies.

Roy is survived by his three children, Kristin Goodfriend, Justin Goodfriend, and Katelin Thibodeaux; 7 grandchildren, Sage and Dax Goodfriend, Roseliegh Thibodeaux, Genevieve Prudhomme, Spirit and Storm Braneff, and Fisher Dawsey; brother, Patrick Goodfriend; sister, Chyrel Young and husband Leeland; uncle, A.J. Goodfriend and wife Pat, and Joseph Goodfriend and wife Charlotte; aunt, Connie Young; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Doris Goodfriend; and his brothers, Andrew and Terry Goodfriend.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 3 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marcus Wade officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until time of the service.

  1. I knew Roy from High School Rodeos. I remember that he won the bull riding at the Church Point High School Rodeo in 1973. He was always friendly and pleasant. I know his family will miss him and my condolences are extended to them.

Roy we talked two weeks after Bobby passed away why didn't you tell me you were sick mater a fact I was looking for your number that very day when I seen on Facebook you had passed away.Roy you were a very good friend to Bobby and also to me Roy you respected me so.You helped me take care of Bobby the same time you took care of me with a broken foot you took care of Michael and helped take care of Scotty with giving him his bottle cause I couldn't get out of bed fast enough.Roy what I'm trying to say we Loved you Roy and alwasys did. i know life got in the way and didn't see you as much but you were never far from our thoughts and from my Heart you didn't have to take care of us like you did and I guess Roy what I'm trying to say is I love you my Friend and I will always miss you .Now you and Bobby are up their watching PBR together.Miss you my dearest FRIEND.
