Terry Clark Stevens

July 28, 1960 ~ November 6, 2021

Terry Clarke Stevens was taken out of this world doing what he loved the most on November 6, 2021, at the age of 61. Christ was his ultimate guide through life, and we find peace knowing that he is now walking in heaven. He was more than a son, husband, father, and brother. Terry was the man that would lend anyone a tool, the shirt off his back or the money in his pocket. He was always the greatest image of selflessness. When he wasn’t on a piece of equipment or didn’t have a chainsaw in his hand, you could find him surrounded by his dogs and the people he loved the most. Terry never met a stranger and was willing to tell anyone about the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Stevens, mother, Cathryn Stevens, brother, Wilfred Stevens, and father-in-law, Louis Bertrand.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Stevens, son, Keith Stevens (Brooke Stevens), daughters, Kaleena Dugas (Ronny Dugas) and Katie Stevens, sister, Cathy Stevens, mother-in-law, Lena Bertrand and grandchildren, Emma and Abby Stevens and Reese Dugas.

Funeral services honoring Terry’s life will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, November 09, 2021, in Houston River Baptist Church Gym in Sulphur. Rev. Todd Schumacher will officiate. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss. Visitation will be held 5 – 9pm, Monday at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will resume Tuesday, Noon – 2pm at Houston River Baptist Church Gym.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial tree be planted in Terry's honor.

Memories Timeline

  1. Dear Nancy, Keith and Family,

Scooter and I send our heartfelt sincerest sympathy to you all.  We were saddened to hear of the passing of Terry.
Our first thoughts were of his conversation at our home.  He spoke about his love for what he did.  He spoke about his faith and his journey and of course, he always gave us updates on his growing family with such a smile.

Terry was a very faithful, honest person and a honorable man.  He will be missed by many.

May God comfort you all especially on the toughest days.

    Love Scooter & Vanessa Conway

  2. Nancy, We were shocked and sorrowed at the news of Terry's accidental death. Our hearts reach out to you in your loss and we beg you and your family to not fail to call upon us if there is anything we may be able to offer in yall's time of loss and suffering. May our LORD bless and keep you and make His face shine upon you and grant you peace.
    Sincerely, Butch Ellis

  3. It was a pleasure to have known Terry. He was one of the nicest, hardest working men I have ever known. He lit up when I would ask about Nancy or the one of the kids or grandkids. Such a soft spoken sweet person. Such a great loss. If we can do anything please don't hesitate to ask.
You are all in my prayers…..

  4. Terry Stevens was an example to the world of what a man should be! He always spoke the truth in a kind way!
Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and the entire Stevens family.

  5. Terry blessed so many people with his faith and kindness. A true friend to us. Praying that you’ll find comfort in your memories of him and in the knowledge that others will miss him too. We will plant trees in our yard in remembrance of him.

  6. Terry was an amazing person. I will always remember his kind smile. Nancy, you two made such an adorable couple. I will continue to pray for comfort for you and your family.

  7. Nancy — Paul and I are so sorry about Terry's accident. Remember when we used to have Fall Family Weekend at URC? We had a soccer game–parents vs kids. I was so thankful for Terry because he could RUN. The rest of us parents weren't so good at that. You and the kids will be in our prayers. Terry was a very, very good person.

  8. We are all so sorry for your loss. You and yours will remain in our thoughts and prayers, you have our most heartfelt condolences.

  9. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Terry but based on his daughter Katie and on the nice things written about him on this page I know that he was a good man and is at peace in Heaven. I am praying for peace, strength and comfort for his family.

  10. My sincere condolences to Nancy and family at this difficult time.  May you all seek God for comfort, peace, strength and support.                                                Barbara Page
